Overview

COSCO Capital Management LLC is perhaps the foremost expert in North America on oil and gas investing and private placement financings for private and public energy companies. Since the beginning of 2000, COSCO has assisted over thirty companies to access $1.3 billion through private placements, two thirds of which has gone as venture capital to rank start-ups in the US and Canada, primarily to pursue drill-bit focused business plans. In addition, over this same period, COSCO has advised a dozen or so professionally managed capital providers, themselves, on current or prospective investments and assisted them with specific transactions amounting to $500MM (see Deals)

Expanding the focus a bit further, since its founding in January 1992, COSCO has worked with over 150 energy clients, primarily in the upstream sector of the oil and gas business, but also in the mid- and down-stream, service and manufacturing industries, and alternate and renewable fields. It has served clients based in North, Central, and South America, Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia. There are few types of business opportunities within the traditional energy business it has not previously considered, and often financed. From the opposite perspective, COSCO has advised or otherwise worked closely with sixty-six professionally managed sources of capital dedicated to, or with a history of, investing in the energy business (see Clients). Again, these capital sources have been based in the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. These constitute the vast majority of the professional providers of private placement capital with any serious interest in investing in energy.
